I am having so much fun knitting the Ashton Shawlette.  My only problem is the summer temperatures here in Brisbane!  So looking forward to cooler weather so I can continue :). I hate frogging so I have put in a couple of lifelines: one at the end of Chart 1 and another at the end of first repeat of Chart 2.  Here is the latest photo.  I just started the second repeat of Chart 2 :).   Shawl Details: Yarn I am using is Shalimar Yarns Breathless: Sapote colourway. A year ago I had planned to knit the Ashton Shawlette but never found the time to start it.  This month I finally found the time to start it and I am having so much fun learning how to knit a shawl.  The pattern have extra information on how to read the lace charts which is ideal for beginners or someone knitting a shawl for the first time.  Below is a picture of my shawl at the end of Chart 1.   Shawl Details: Yarn I am using is Shalimar Yarns Breathless: Sapote colourway. Yay!  My Shalimar Yarns Breathless yarn safely arrived from USA.  Now I can finally start my Shawl.  The Shawl I’ll be knitting this year is Ashton Shawlette. The yarn is a 3-ply superwash blend of Merino, cashmere and silk – yum!  The colourway I have chosen to use is Sapote.  For the true colour of Sapote, please see link below....

Ever since I learnt to knit in my early teens, I’ve always wanted to learn how to do lace knitting.  So I’ve decided to take the plunge in 2013 and knit a lace shawl.  LOL hopefully it won’t take me longer than 2013 to finish it.  I hope to share my progress during 2013 :). Now to decide on which pattern to use.  One thing I love about Ravelry is that there are so many patterns available.   These are the ones I am considering: Haruni by Emily Ross Spring Thaw Shawl by Cheri McEwen Budding Shawlette by Joyce (YuLian) Yu Ashton Shawlette by Dee O’Keefe Gail (aka Nightsongs) by MaweLucky/Jane Araujo Princess by Angela Tong Fall of Leaves by Stephanie Hogendoorn Moonlight Sonata Scarf or Shawl version 2 by Shui Kuen Kozinski I love them all but at this point in time my favourite is Ashton Shawlette.  Now to do some research about yarns and go yarn shopping...
