My first Quilt Top – Piece of Cake 3
I love Craftsy and mainly enrolled in their knitting courses. This year I decided to treat myself to a Quilting Craftsy course. I bought/enrolled in Camille Roskelley’s Craftsy Pre-Cut Piecing Made Simple Class course and I have not regretted it. The course is well structured and easy to follow. Camille makes it look easy and fun. She also offers a lot of great tips which has been a great help to me – a newbie to quilting! I am so excited that Camille will be teaching/doing another Craftsy course. Hopefully it will be out in time for Christmas.
The great thing about Craftsy is that you can watch the course again and again. Very helpful with my first attempt of Camille’s Piece of Cake 3 quilt pattern. Below is my first finished quilt top EVER! So excited :).
Sorry for the bad photo. I have not figured out a great way to take a nice photo of a big item yet. Will take more and better photos once I have quilted it.
The quilt top was made using a layer cake of CHERRY ON TOP by Keiki, white quilting fabric and backing fabric as borders on the very top and bottom of the quilt top. This quilt will be for my 6yo DD. She chose the layer cake as she loves anything cupcake/baking related. She also chose the backing fabric as it reminded her of My Little Pony (the colours).
