As it was Father’s Day on Sunday 1st Sept, I was really busy last week volunteering in my girls’ classroom/Kindy. Luckily I found some time during the weekend to add a white border to finish my quilt top for the Star Surround QAL. This week I decided to attempt block 4 Basket Weave by cutting out the pieces using a rotary cutter. Not perfect but I’m happy with it :). I went back to Foundation Paper piecing for Block 31 Evening Star. I think I will stick with the Foundation Paper piecing method for most of the FWS blocks :). I purchased my copy of the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book from the Book Depository. I found they had the cheapest price that included postage to Australia. I was too eager to see how the block would look like that I went ahead and finished the block before I could take pics of this week’s assignment. Good to see other quilters also completed their star surround block :). LOL must remember not to choose prints with lines in them. This week I thought I would challenge myself by attempting some of the semi hard blocks for the Farmer’s Wife Sampler quilt. The blocks I completed this week are Block 108 Windmill and Block 40 Friendship Block. I already had 108 ready to go so I finished that off but this time took care in aligning the points.
