Another 2 blocks made for my FWS quilt: Block 10 Bowtie and Block 61 Northern Lights. Not perfect but I am happy with the results. I can always come back later and remake the blocks :). I purchased my copy of the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book from the Book Depository. I found they had the cheapest price that included postage to Australia. If you would like to buy a copy, here is a link to the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book. These blocks were made using Carol Doaks Foundation Paper purchased at Book...

My 2 Farmer’s Wife Sampler blocks for this week: Blocks 44 Gentleman’s Fancy and 66 Periwinkle. This time I decided to try Foundation Paper Piecing with 4 pieces – block 66. It’s not perfect as I was not able to get perfect points in two areas but overall I am happy with my first go :). I purchased my copy of the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book from the Book Depository. I am really enjoying Foundation Paper Piecing so will do a few more blocks using this method before attempting Rotary cut blocks...

My next 2 blocks for the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt: blocks 54 Kitchen Woodbox and 97 Waste Not. Block 97 challenged me as so far all my blocks have been one Foundation Paper piece pattern. Block 97 had 2 that you join together. Not perfect but I am happy with how the points lined up :). I purchased my copy of the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book from the Book Depository. This is my third attempt at making these blocks for the Farmer’s Wife Sampler quilt. First attempt using Rotary cut method: I didn’t measure correctly and cut most of the blocks too small. Second attempt using Foundation Paper piecing method: again I didn’t measure & cut the fabric correctly so they were too small. Third time’s the charm as below are my first two Farner’s Wife Sampler blocks. So happy with the way they turned out even though I have a little doubt about fabric choices for Block 1. Hopefully it will go well with the rest of the FWS blocks :). I purchased my copy of the Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt book from the Book Depository.
